What is the difference between "Erinnerung" and "Beschwerde"?

• „Erinnerung“ in principle would be the first step: The officer has the possibility to amend his decision. If he rejects an amendment, an officer of another department of the office will make a new decision about the case. Against that decision it is possible to file a “Beschwerde”. So the “Beschwerde” is in principle the second step. For the decision about the “Beschwerde” the “Bundespatentgericht” (BPatG - Federal Patent Court) is competent. This is a court, not a department of the office.
